What an incredible testament to Versailles, Ohio. The rain didn’t stop us from conquering our goals, Making Versailles, Ohio home to “The World’s Largest Chicken BBQ”. The saying “It takes a Village” Is spot on in so many ways, Versailles embodies every single letter in the saying. Without its 600+ volunteers, none of this happens, it’s truly what makes Versailles Poultry Days so successful and why it means so much to Versailles and its residents. Your support, whether through volunteering, attending, sponsoring, or simply decorating your homes, you are truly the heartbeat of Versailles Poultry Days.

There are so many thank you that need to be said, the first being my wife, Courtney. Her, Sylvie and Margo are my biggest supporters through the last year and even before going through the chairs. Courtney made sure I always had clean clothes; the house was kept up and our girls had everything they needed and more. I couldn’t have done this with out her and her support though the last 8 years. She’s truly the rock of our household. 

Secondly, our families, between helping with the girls and helping prepare meals, and supporting the festival, it’s been amazing. My family has instilled a love for Versailles Poultry Days, always making it a very big deal, I think that’s why it’s always been so special to me and holds a very special place in my heart.  

The Village of Versailles and Versailles School District, You guys rock! With the electrical requirements, to changing of plans. Placing barricades, waste services, the festival also doesn’t move with out all that you do for us! Its incredible the amount of help you provide behind the scenes to make it all happen. 

Lastly, the board of Directors, Chairman, and Committee Members, these guys know what it takes to make this festival move, though sweltering heat to pouring down rain, early mornings and late nights, you make the festival go! Work hard, Play Harder is the motto of these folks that make Poultry Days all that it is. Jordan, Kyle, Tony, Matt and Vince, your hard work and determination is inseparable to your love of your community, the festival and the future of Versailles, Ohio, it’s inspiring that a diverse group of individuals come together for one common goal. The chairman before me Jeff, Alex, Luke, Brent, Derek, Matt, Vince, and all others, thank you for making this hard work fun, and persevering through the hard times. 74 years is something to be proud of.
